Best Rated Roomba Vacuums

This Roomba is considered to be one of the best vacuums on the market. It has the strongest AI obstacle avoidance of any we've tested and also mopping technology that has dual rubber brushes that are less susceptible to tangling than bristle brushes.

It employs random (or bump) navigation rather than VSLAM, which is more time-consuming to clean, but ensures that every room is adequately covered. It also has a long battery life and is effective on both carpet and hardwood floors.

1. Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is finished in an elegant matte grey finish that appears like fabric. This reduces fingerprints. Its smart mapping technology uses advanced sensors to create a map of your house that allows it to clean by rooms and avoid obstacles. You can also alter your cleaning preferences within the iRobot app, which offers recommendations based on your home and season (like running it more often during the season of allergy). The robot's high efficiency filter will catch 99 percent of allergens like dust mites, mold, fur from cats and dogs. It also features edge-sweeping and cliff sensors as well as four brushes (including two long, multi-surface brushes and one side brush) and a floor tracker to keep the robot on its designated path.

In our tests the i3+ EVO was able to clean our floors quickly and efficiently. It was able to easily go between rugs and carpets, and back again. It also did not have any issues moving over the wooden and metal trim that separates flooring kinds. It did get into a few items, including bags, pet toys and shoes, but was able move around them. It also missed a few spots of dirt on our carpet however it was able to pick up hairs from other areas.

The i3+ EVO is a great choice for homes with carpeting, but falls short when it comes to picking crumbs and heavier debris. It's not able to remove pet hair from carpeting and is not the ideal choice for those looking to replace their traditional vacuum cleaner with robotic. It is also not equipped with the superior obstacles avoiding capabilities of premium Roombas such as the J7+ or S9+, which can make it more susceptible to slipping into pet waste on flooring and spread it across.

2. Roomba J7+

This is one of the best robot vacuums for those who have carpet, hard floors and carpet. Its most prominent feature is its obstacle detection that intelligently removes furniture legs, cords, and even pet debris. It's also excellent in cleaning hard floors and picking up long hairs stuck in the brush.

Like other robots unlike other robots, the Roomba j7+ can adjust its suction power. This can be done through the app. It also has an excellent map editor and a section to save your favorite maps. The j7+ is very quiet, especially when you have a higher-end flooring option and it does a fantastic job of keeping up with manual vacuuming.

In our tests, the j7+ managed to remove more debris on carpeted and hard surfaces than the 694 and also was more efficient in crevices. The only issue was that it did not perform as well in the longer human hair test which is a common test for all robots.

The j7+ has self-emptying Clean Base which will automatically transfer dirt from the robot's bin into an enclosed dirt bag every time it docks. This reduces the need for hands-on maintenance and is a huge benefit for those suffering from allergies. The j7+ is also compatible with irobot self emptying vacuum Braava Jet M Series robot mop using its Imprint Link feature. It will automatically resume mopping after the vacuuming process is complete.

3. Roomba i7+

The i7+ is a fascinating machine to observe. It follows a pattern similar to the way a lawn-care professional trims a field prior to an event. Sometimes, it will return to its dock to empty its bin of dust or recharge its batteries. Self-emptying is an excellent change from the way that most robot vacuums work and reduces the need for hands-on maintenance.

It is equipped with a powerful suction, which allows it to effortlessly remove dirt and pet hair. It is able to pick up the majority of dirt on carpets with high pile in only one swipe. It also can identify areas that are prone to traffic and spend longer in those areas. This is particularly helpful if your children and pets are bringing in a lot of trash from the outdoors.

Smart Mapping is another great feature. It allows the i7+ learn the layout of your house and create a floor map that you can customize while it vacuums. It took four one-hour sessions to map out my two-bedroom apartment however, once it had done it was able to navigate the space logically and efficiently. The app lets you modify the map by creating virtual boundaries or giving the rooms names. You can set the i7+ to clean the space around the cat's litter tray each morning or to avoid the sofa in the living room after everyone has gone home.

The i7+ also comes with a sidebrush as well as an squeegee that is free of tangles which are ideal for picking up any debris that might otherwise fall to the ground. It also comes with a battery with Recharge and Resume technology, which means it will pick up exactly where it left off during the previous cleaning session, if you let it charge.

4. Roomba 694

The 694 is an excellent entry-level robot that can make your home cleaner without the features that are standard on higher-end models. It learns about your habits for cleaning to recommend schedules, works with Google Assistant and Alexa voice assistants to allow you to begin cleaning with one click and is controlled using the irobot roomba combo app.

Dual multi-surface brushes remove dirt from carpet and hard floors, while the edge-sweeping brush removes dust from corners and edges. The battery can last for 90 minutes before docking back to the Home Base when it runs out.

The top panel houses a large Clean/Power button in the middle, with the Home and Spot buttons to the left and right. The indicator for the battery's level glows orange while charging and green when the robot is powered to run. The dustbin slides into robot's back and is released by pressing a button.

The Roomba 694 does a great job of navigating bare floors and is able to remove large debris like cereal and rice, but it isn't as adept at handling tiny particles such as baking soda, and can overflow the dirt compartment when it fills up. It's not as effective on low pile carpets, but it still scores better than other robot vacuums of this price.

It is very effective at picking up pet hair. However, some strands might get caught on the side brush. The poor performance of the 694 on cat litter is also a cause of concern, despite the fact that it still scored as high as the other robots in this category. It was better than our top pick (the Roborock S4 Max) by 19 points. The 694 costs a little more than the RoboVac 30C but feels more robust, requires less maintenance, has lower costs for recurring use, charges quicker and performs better on floors with high-piles and bare floors. It also has a larger dustbin that can be used with or without an internet connection.

5. Eufy 11s

The eufy 11s is among of the cheapest robot vacuums on the market, and it's a solid option if you're looking for an easy and reliable machine. This model can pick up dust, pet hair and other debris on both hard and low-pile floors. It also does a good job of maneuvering around obstacles and furniture. Its slim profile makes it easy to reach under furniture with low clearances like coffee tables, couches and other items. It is also among the quietest robot vacuums we have tested.

This is the simplest model we've seen. It lacks features found in more expensive models. There's no app for it, so you will need to set the schedule manually by using the remote control. It does not include an indicator for battery level or a dust bin alert. You'll need manually empty the trash bin when needed.

Despite its low price, this model is still extremely well-constructed and easy to maintain. It also has a long battery life and offers good performance on floors that are bare and when maneuvering around obstacles. In our tests, it was able to climb over low-lying obstacles like electrical cords with greater ease than the Roomba 694 or Shark Ion robots, but it had trouble with high-pile carpets.

The eufy is an excellent option than the ONSON GOOVI, however we recommend a premium model if you have the money. The iRobot roomba irobot 694 is easier to maintain, has lower cost of maintenance, and has a longer maximum battery life. It's also better at cleaning bare floors moving furniture around and has a bigger dust bin.
